  • Dear Hany,

    Welcome to the MSDN forum.

    What’s your OS version?

Where did you download the .NET Framework 3.5, please try to download it from https://www.microsoft.com/en-sg/download/details.aspx?id=21 and followed the steps as below:

    1. Make sure Windows update full up-to-date

    2. Disable any anti-virus software

    3. Run the .NET Framework 3.5 as administrator, right-click the installer and Run as administrator.

If your OS is Windows 8, 8.1 or 10, the .NET Framework 3.5 is not automatically installed with Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, and must be separately enabled to run applications that depend on it, please have a look at this: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh506443(v=vs.110).aspx

If this issue still persists, open Event Viewer (Control PanelàAll Control Panel ItemsàAdministrative ToolsàEvent Viewer) and re-run the .NET Framework, see if there has any related error message popups or not.

    Best regards,

    Sara

  • Dear Hany,

    Thank you for your update.

Since the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 is shipped with Windows 7 and you install it through Turn Windows features on or off then meet the setup error, please make sure Windows update already up-to-date and run the command: sfc /scannow in the elevated command prompt to check the integrity of the required system files, you should install .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 as administrator.

Meanwhile, please have a look at this article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976982 and try the following methods:

Method 1: Fix MSI software update registration corruption issues

Method 2: Repair the .NET Framework

After that, you can use the .NET Framework Setup Verification tool: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/10/13/8999004.aspx to check the .NET Framwork 3.5 SP1.

    Best regards,

    Sara

Issue with .Net framework download/install is not VB.Net question. You should post your question in a forum for .Net Framework.

  • You should be able to find the forum very simply by viewing all Forums and selecting .Net Framework. The same way you select the VB.Net Forum.
