Date Time Import Issue AzureML Studio RRS feed

  • Question

  • Scenario

I have 4 columns with the following formats in a CSV. Upon Import it converts both Date and Time Columns to datetime, with right date in the Date column but a new import date in the Time column as follows:

    CSV File Columns and Formats

    Date           - Time   - Col 3  - Col 4
    2016/01/04 - 13:00 - 0.555 - Yes it works

    After Import into AzureML

    2016-01-04T00:00:00 - 2016-06-16T13:00:00 - 0.555 - Yes it works

Does anyone know how I can get this back to its original state after the import?

  • just to make sure, I know exactly what you have... I uploaded the following CSV file as a dataset from my local machine:
    Date,Time,Col 3,Col 4
    2016/01/04,13:00,0.555,Yes it works
And uploaded this csv file as a dataset in AML and used it in an experiment and I got
    Date,Time,Col 3,Col 4
    2016-01-04T00:00:00 13:00:00 0.555 Yes it works

in this case, I see a different value in the time column. Did you do this another way?

Given, the CSV file is parsed before experiment time, the best bet may be doing an R script to trim back the time column to the format you desire. You could also try to convert your file to ARFF format where you can explicitly set the type of the time field to string and it should not do any conversion.
