Install-ContainerOSImage failes on Nano RRS feed

  • Question

  • I remoted to a Nano TP4 VM in Azure:

    PS >Install-PackageProvider ContainerProvider -Force

    works fine

    PS > Find-ContainerImage

    Name                 Version                 Description
    ----                 -------                 -----------
NanoServer           10.0.10586.0            Container OS Image of Windows Se...
WindowsServerCore    10.0.10586.0            Container OS Image of Windows Se...

    works fine

    but:

    PS > Install-ContainerImage -Name NanoServer
Install-ContainerOSImage : The term 'Install-ContainerOSImage' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable
program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.
    At C:\Program Files\WindowsPowerShell\Modules\ContainerProvider\0.5.2\ContainerProvider.psm1:245 char:5
    +     Install-ContainerOSImage -WimPath $Destination `
    +     ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
        + CategoryInfo          : ObjectNotFound: (Install-ContainerOSImage:String) [], CommandNotFoundException

  • Sorry for the delayed response, you are correct, at this time the nano server image in Azure is not configured with the container role.
