How to get updates for WEC7 and WEC2013? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All.

Does anyone know how to get monthly updates for mentioned OS?

According to this page: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn205267.aspx MSDN link

i need to access Microsoft OEM website   (Digital Operation Center) to continue receiving updates.

I have access to www.visualstudio.com and some of the updates are available from there but not monthly ones.

My question is: do I need to register somewhere else to keep receiving monthly updates for Windows Embedded Compact or I can still receive them using Windows Developer Update?

Unfortunately I can't find any information about it.

    Thanks,

    Alexey

  • Alexey,

What you need to ask your MS distributor for (the company Videojet buys their CE licenses from) is access to the Device Partner Center (formerly known as MyOEM). You need to sign a CLA with MS for that and you need to make sure you get "indirect embedded" permissions, otherwise you won't see any of the Windows Embedded CE/Compact downloads.

There's some more info about the process of getting the right access on DPC at the end of this thread. As it has always been the case with embedded, the process of getting access is painful, so set yourself up for that kind of expectation and you should be able to manage the frustration...

  • Contact your license reseller.  They can set you up with access to the OEM site.

I am asking this question because no one can explain this to me.

    Thanks you very much!

  • No, I can't because I don't know anything about your company.  Only you know your company.

Your company buys licenses.  There is someone in your company, usually the Purchasing team or buyer, who buys those licenses.  You need to discuss it with them to get a contact for the reseller that they purchase licensed from.
