  • hi guys, when am building vs 2005 project I get following error
Error    7    The type or namespace name 'Office' does not exist in the namespace 'Microsoft' (are you missing an assembly reference?)

the problem is all team members except me have office 11 (i.e. office 2003) .i've office 11 and really like new features and don't want downgrade. is there any solution for this so that I can continue to use office 11 and still use our project with office 2003 references ?

  • thanks for that developer_rk1, finally managed to resolve the problem. I re-read your first link multiple times and follwed instructions listed there and finally I got it working.
initially my office 2007 threw all sort of errors after installing PIA as per your 1st link but I did repair of office 2007 installation now all good.

by the way one quick question ,i still did not understand why you asked me to check "object browser" ? can you explain more on that Please ? trying to understand how it helps in this scenario .

    thanks again.
