SSRS 2016 Add-In For SharePoint Questions RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to leverage the features in SSRS 2016. Our current implementation is running SharePoint 2013 and SQL Server 2014 (SSRS 2014). I'm trying to understand how and what is needed to utilize the SSRS 2016 features/add-in. I understand that it can be installed under SP 2013.

    1. Do we need to have a SQL Server 2016 instance running with SSRS?

    2. How do we configure the SP 2013 to utilize the Add-in?

I'm sorry these questions are vague, but I'm not the server admins and am not familiar with the configuration. I'm trying to get an understanding so I can go forward (or not) with a request.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Whalensdad

According to your description, you want know how the compatibility is when install SSRS 2016 on sp2013 ,and how to configure SSRS 2016 on SharePoint 2013, right?

Based on my research , SharePoint  2013 support the SSRS 2016 , but not support the SQL server 2016.

You could get more information at : SharePoint 2013/2016 and SQL Server 2016 Supportability with SSRS fun facts!

You could also refer the following link to know how to configure the SSRS 2016 on SharePoint mode:

    Hope it can help you.
