Restfull services using POST,PUT,GET and DELETE Methods not allowed for IIS express RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey guys,

    So as the name of the tittle says , im having problems with testing my Windows store app using web services, im following a long the Windows Store App Development Book and the author warns us the readers that the ISS express which is the visual studio version dont allow or dont accept the PUT,POST and DELETE commands for restful services, however he suggest us the readers a tip which fix this problem but its not working with my visual studio 2013 professional for some reason, the template i used for my ASP.NEt Project was Web API and just to make sure i was clear im not using the visual studio 2012 templates which is also possible...so the author 's suggestion is to make these changes in the Web.Config file :

    <validation validateIntegratedModeConfiguration="false" />
    <modules runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests="true" />
    <remove name="ExtensionlessUrlHandler-Integrated-4.0" />
    <add name="ExtensionlessUrlHandler-Integrated-4.0"
    path="*." verb="*"
    resourceType="Unspecified" requireAccess="Script"
    preCondition="integratedMode,runtimeVersionv4.5" />

    but as i said before it didnt work, any clues of how to get around that?

    thanks in advance for any help!

    Kind regards,

    C# user
