Template editing (artboard layout) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using Blend 2 for creating a new ContentTemplate (create empty). I am doing  this for a toggle Button.

The issue I am having is that the shape for the Template is a very wide rectangle. But what I am desingin is a ROUND toggle button.

Yes, I can put the contents in a Grid that is square, (width = height) but I don't want that since I want the top level grid to be both stretchable (horiz and verticle) and not have a fixed width. That way people can use the template and stretch the toggle button to the size and shape they want.

Normal user controls have  d:layout field that allows one to specify a layout time design. What about templates?

  • Good news: we had added design time sizing for templates in Blend 3 Preview (that you can download for free). The one drawback is that Blend 3 Preview only support Silverlight 3 and WPF project types (Silverlight 2 projects will be automatically upgraded).
