Retrieving an Activex instance from handle RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an activexobject running in an application, i need to retrieve its instance.

very similiar to what we do for retrieving IHtmldocument interface

using    uint lMsg = RegisterWindowMessage("WM_HTML_GETOBJECT"); and objectmessagefromLresult.

Is there a way to do something similiar retrieve an activexinstance  from the handle.?

Any help would be highly appreciated as i dont want to do screen scrapping as this gives me complete control over the control.?

    Thanks in Advance

  • That's an implementation detail of Internet Explorer.  Nothing standard, no other ActiveX control you'd run into in daily use would implement that scheme.  Especially not when you don't know what the name of the message is.  If you did know the name, you wouldn't be asking this question.
