Where can I find directions on enabling the CDN

    Question

  • .

I just need to know how to enable the CDN on a blob, and how to find the url for it, once enabled.

I was able to find the old interface, (though the URL has been removed) but there is nothing there except and the only possible thing I can do is select "new service namespace."

Since the only thing you can do on the old interface is to create a new cache, and the size of the new cache is 128megs to 4 gigs, then it has nothing to do with blob storage.

So, all the documentation says that you have to create this in the old interface, but yet, in the old interface there is only one thing you can do, and it is not create a CDN.  Help?  What am I missing?

Is this a bug so to speak, in that people who do not already have a CDN setup are unable to create one?  Or ???

  • i think you missed it, if you have a free plan you can not get phone support unless you upgrade, being said that it does not mean you can not get support, you create a ticket,

go to the link i provided above, click sing in, and then from the support dialog box that shows up click create ticket, see screen shot below

  • I watched the video and it was helpful because I now know that what I am trying to do cannot be done, at this time, because they have removed that functionality from the old interface.  (When I log into it, I can create a cache and there is nothing else that can be done.) Probably without realizing it.

So, it is good to know it is not possible, until someone reenables that functionality on the old site.  I wonder when/if that will happen.  My suspicion is that if you already have a CDN the functionality shows up.

Thanks for the help, I am not marking the post as answered, as I still dont know how to create a CDN.  But they do look like very good links that would be great, if the old interface still worked for CDN.

Also, they have removed the link to the old interface from the new one, and that makes it hard to find.

  • Yes, I have moved to the new interface, but as the link in your post shows, in order to create a CDN you must do so on the old interface, because the functionality is not available on the new interface.

  • If you are not currently a Windows Azure CDN customer and you are interested in adding the CDN to your subscription, contact Windows Azure Support. Note that the CDN has a separate billing plan from Windows Azure Storage or Windows Azure Cloud Services.

  • Yes, I found that link too, but when I click on it, the page says I am not eligible for support except with billing.
