Installation Issue: "Error code: 0x80070001"

Hi,

When installing the "Windows Developer Preview with developer tools English, 64-bit (x64)" version of Windows 8, I receive this message when the installation gets to "Expanding Windows files (84%)":

"Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all file required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070001"

Any ideas why?

Hello Michael J. Titera,

This could be caused by a bad burn in the ISO. I suggest you burn the ISO files again. It might help to burn the DVD at the lowest possible speed.

Look at the information here, it is not describing Windows Developer Preview, but might help with the 0x80070001 error you are experiencing.
