Reference to undeclared namespace prefix: 'tns' RRS feed

  • Question

  • Developed a web service per this tutorial: http://seroter.wordpress.com/2008/06/06/building-infopath-web-forms-with-cascading-lists/

I can navigate to the web service just fine, it tests out in the browser and yields results in Sharepoint until I try to fire off the rule that has one drop-down menu feed its data to the next.  When the rule is fired off, I get an Infopath error message that states:

    undeclared reference to namespace prefix:'tns.'

Other browsers won't even touch it; I immediately get a 'form has been closed' box.  Can't do much to edit the path via Infopath, as you can only select a field. Have tried the steps found here:http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/1314/4508.aspx to add custom code to the button, but VS could not find the namespace for IXMLDOMDocument3 (among many others) despite a reference to system.xml.  Since I am not conversant in XML, I promptly gave up on that route.

Basically all I am trying to do is create a browser-friendly form with cascading dropdowns.  Any help or advice is appreciated.
