  • This is a user-to-user forum. We have no tech support resources or reference material.

If EW worked at one time (you didn't give any details), you could roll the system back to the last known good confguration. That has helped some people who got caught by a Windows Update that interfered.

You could search through the forum or the MS Knowledge Base for similar questions and error messages. Good luck.

  • @Bill Pearson is correct, but i can't resist:

-Have you tried running as administrator? that often works for me.

-Otherwise I would just try re-downloading and re-installing EW4, maybe something somewhere got corrupted.

  • Unfortunately, EW has never worked for me. I will search the KB again, but I didn't find anything useful the first time. I appreciate the help. Thanks!

  • I have tried as an administrator with no success. I also un and re installed the product and got the same result. I appreciate your advice as well. Thank you!

  • Check out http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/programs-crash-error-fault-module-kernelbasedll/9fe5d2e7-79d0-42c1-b8dc-51ed8d70f749

Your error is very generic and can mean a lot of things, in a lot of programs.  (KERNELBASE.dll is not part of EW.)

One thing to try is to create another user, and see if EW runs for that user.  If so, it's user profile corruption.
