newbie upload and cdn access question RRS feed

  • Question

  • I subscribed to CDN an hour ago. i created a storage account and added a CDN endpoint.

What i want to do is FTP up 30gb of media fiels (FLV and SWF and PNG) and then make use of the CDN by remapping my media links to the CDN address...

Am i thinking about thsi incorrectly?  Are not the assets uniquly adressible and is not there a simpel ftp way to get my media into the cloud?

  • Windows Azure Storage doesn’t natively support FTP. Most people use either a Storage tool (such as Cloud Storage Studio or Azure Storage Explorer) or write code using the Windows Azure Storage API. If it’s important to be able to use FTP, you’d have to host an FTP server in a worker role (and pay for the hosting). There’s a codeplex project for FTP to Windows Azure Storage available here but I have not used it myself.
