Fetching data from database and displaying in microsoft word

I have a requirement where i need to fetch data from the MSSQL Server database and display in the Microsoft office word.

Overall look and feel should be like a custom template ,Please suggest code in C#

I am not sure what kind of look and feel of custom template mechanism you need. But this is possible using many ways.

First you need to read data from your sql server using ado.net refer Populating a DataSet from a DataAdapter

For populating the data from dataset to a Word document you have many options as below.

Use Microsoft Word Object Library COM component to write a word document or populate a template (.dot) you can refer http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316384 KB article.
Use OpenXML SDK – a new generation managed library . You can refer http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/36694/Creation-of-a-Word-2007-document-using-the-Open-XM
Use Third Party library like aspose word. Refer: http://www.aspose.com/demos/.net-components/aspose.words/default.aspx

Though I am using Option 3 (ASPOSE) for many years , from your requirement I would recommend you to use Option Two if you have Office 2007 else Option One.
