Upgrade OAuth 1.0 To OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect

Hello friends! I've a requirement where I've to upgrade a VB.NET web app from OAuth 1.0 to OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect. The requirement is for an QuickBooks integration where it requires OpenID Connect and here is the link that I was going through:

QuickBooks V3 SDK 

OpenID Connect

So basically what I would like to know if it's possible to make the up-gradation and was studying these links as well:

Upgrade From OAuth 1.0 To OAuth 2.0

QuickBooks Online V3 API

Nothing much gathered as I am bit new to this and may require few more things to study. So would expect some ideas or suggestions from the experts if anyone worked with it earlier and share their experiences or useful resources on this like - Thanks.

OAuth/OIDC is authentication/authorization protocol.  There must be a reason for the upgrade.  What parts of OAuth 2.0 do you need?  What features of OIDC do you need? 

Your links show QuickBooks provides an API.  Have you tried authenticating?

But you should firstly learn how OIDC works which help understand the process better .

Thanks for the replies @mgebhard and @Nan Yu. I can understand, I require to know more about OIDC and the work it does. One thing I understood is, it does authentication with token for a user. So basically I am looking into this section and have shortage of time to make it work. Though got a sample running project that seems to be what I am looking for with OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect. I am sharing it with you guys, so you can check around if you have time and created a developer account in Intuit for the variables required:
