How to automate my Windows Store App.

    Question

  • Hi Friends,

I have a Windows Store App.

Now I want a mechanism through which I want each and every possible UI screenshot (It consist of static as well as dynamic UI) of my app and I also want that those screenshots should be taken automatically and should be saved at a given location with a given name. All these things I want to be automatic not manual.

Please suggest some mechanism or tool for that.

    Thanks

  • I'm not aware of any existing tools that will automate to that extent, but I haven't looked into it before so they may exist.

If you want to create your own then look into the UI Automation API.

  • Hi Rob,

    Thanks for your reply.

My actual need is, "I want that my app should support 20+ languages and I don't think it is possible to test all languages one by one so what I need is I want to call each and every UI one by one for one language and save all screenshots programmatically to a specified location. All screenshots would have unique name. Same will be repeated for all supported language." So we can easily test the UI for all supported languages by going through screenshots only.

So, is that possible in Metro app?

If it is possible then please tell me the APIs or some related links.

You can also suggest me some better way to meet my expectation.

    Thanks,

    Sandeep
