Azure Virtual Machines good to host a Corporate Site

Hello,

I am building a internet facing public site on SharePoint for my client and ofcourse this will be a anonymous access open to public site.

I have a bit security concern as i believe these servers need to behind some firewall in a DMZ environment so it can be protected from attacks.

Can Azure VM's be configured / functioned to host SharePoint Public facing internet site behind firewall / dmz which will have SQL DB's or my only option is to On Premise, which would be my best bet.

I will have 2 SharePoint Servers and 1 SQL Server, with not much of traffic on the site.

Please share your thoughts and inputs.

Thanks for your reply Graciotru.

I saw the links you provided, very useful thanks for them.

As per this link we can host Public facing Internet site on Azure and Netwrok would be secured. I hope i am understanding the link correctly.
