Animating a pointer on a gauge using Managed DirectX RRS feed

    (It is not clear if this is the right forumn for this as I could not find one for "Managed DirectX" - so please let me know the correct forumn to post this to).


    I have a query regarding animating a pointer on a gauge using "Manged DirectX"

    I need to have a gauge pointer animated and smooth whilst  fast acting.  For Example a gauge with a 270 Degree sweep, and going full scale deflection back and forth up to 20 times a second.

    By smooth I mean that I would like the needle to be drawn and animated as if it were on a real gauge and moving around the face, rather than the needle just appearing at say the 50% of full sweep, then at full sweep.

    Is this rate of update possible, and what are the limitations I would have using 'Managed DirectX' for this type of display.

    Any samples that somebody to direct me to that demonstrates something like this would be
    most appreciated.
