Using complex wildcards in HttpHandler path. RRS feed

In the path attribute it is not possible to use complex wildcards. For example:

    ([a-zA-Z0-9\-\._])*\.aspx is not working.

Does anybody knows a workaround for this or I have to write it in the code of the HttpHandler?

You can use regex class to resolve regular expression.

I'm using it but imperative in the code. My point is to use it declerative in the web.config.

One way of doing this is to write my own config handler and use it to match the request to appropriate handler.

I was just asking is why complex wildcards cannot be used in the web.config. One reason I see is performance.
