[UWP]sendSms capability not available under Visual Studio 2015 on Windows 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was developing an application for Windows (UWP) but Visual Studio 2015 doesn't let me use the sendSms capability in package manifest.

The 'Name' attribute is invalid - The value 'sendSms' is invalid according to its datatype 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/appx/manifest/types:ST_Capability_Foundation' - The Enumeration constraint failed.

Is there any category that is allowed to use these capabilities? Because I can still use the locationHistory (that comes in the same category of capabilities) but not this one.

The error is correct. There is no "sendSms" capability. I suspect you were looking for the "smsSend" restricted capability. See https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/mt270968.aspx#special_and_restricted_capabilities
