PlayReady individualization over HTTPS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

our client wants to run our Silverlight player in secure environment - over https. Therefore, all the communication initiated by the player has to be also over https. If not, the browser displays "mixed content" warning or simply hangs up.

It seems everything works, except for the case where PlayReady has not been initialized yet. In this case, the Silverlight component communicates with Microsoft servers on it's own, and over HTTP, which causes the problems mentioned before.

Is there a way to force Silverlight to use HTTPS during individualization?

Below you can find URLs of requests made by SL5 during PlayReady individualization and/or initialization.

    Thanks,

    Jiri Volejnik

  • Hi,

This issue ("mixed content") should be fixed by the developer.  In principle, this is very simple: within a HTTPS page, never include a link to a HTTP-delivered resource. refer to https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee264315(v=vs.85).aspx#web_devs for more details.
