About the instalation of NET. framework 3.5 RRS feed

  • Question

  • After the downloading of the program, it starts to intal it on the computer.
Well, after the loading bar is completley full, it just stays that way, with the bar full, and does nothing more.
When I click cancel, the progrmas says it dosen't have finished yet, prooving that is isn't instaled yet.
If I click the cancel button and the yes button when the mentioned massage apears, the program freezes and stays like that until I turn off my computer.

  • Hello,

I think you should first wait a little longer to see if the installation will complete or not.

If it just hang there after a patient waiting, could you please download the full package from here and reinstall to see if this issue still exists?

If this issue still exists, you may follow the below steps:

    1. Check whether you have turned on the windows feature of .NET Framework.(Please go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows features on or off -> Check the box next to Microsoft .NET Framework)
    2. Use Verification Tool to verify .Net Framework. If .Net Framework cannot be verified on your computer, you can try to follow the steps mentioned in the following blog to repair them though this article is about vista.
    See: http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2007/03/26/how-to-repair-the-net-framework-2-0-and-3-0-on-windows-vista.aspx
    3. If .NET Framework are verified successfully but the installation still fails, please collect the log file.
(Please follow the following steps to collect the log files)

The steps to collect the log:
    - Try to clean your "%temp%" folder (Start Menu >> Run >> Type "%temp%")
    - Install .net framework
    - Collect the logs from "%temp%" folder
       Collect tool: http://blogs.msdn.com/heaths/archive/2008/05/09/visual-studio-and-net-log-collection-utility.aspx
    - Upload vslogs.cab file to SkyDrive and post the link back here

In addition, you also can try the useful tool - Process Monitor tool http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/utilities/processmonitor.mspx which can capture the access log. This should give you more info on what are the registry keys/ files being accessed when the hang happens.

  • if You install From Backup Then Disconnect Internet Cable Or Disabled Network Adapter Before Install.
    Close All Runing Applications.
If Possible , Kill The Process Of Explorer (You can also ReRun it From TaskManager--> Run Command "explorer")
