  • Hi Eric Eevask,

    >>My Application intermittently crashes with following exception in event log.

    What's the app project target framework? Does it target .net framework 4.5, 4.0 or any other versions?

    >>It is running on Windows XP SP3.

    Actually, Support for Windows XP ended April 8th, 2014    , I would suggest you use other window OS, Win7 , win8 will be better.

    To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Customer Support Services to obtain the hotfix. For a complete list of Microsoft Customer Support Services telephone numbers and information about support costs, visit the following Microsoft website:

    In addition, On windows XP should supports .NET Framework 4.You can learn more about the .NET Framework 4. The .NET Framework 4.5 is not supported on Windows XP.  For more information, please check this blog:https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/dotnet/p/dotnet4xp/

  • Thank you for your reply.

    We are using .net 4.0.

    Unfortunately It is not an option to switch to Win 7.

    @dberbeka

    Thanks for coming back.

    I want to know how is the issue now? I would suggest you use other window OS, Win7 , win8 will be better. Since you cannot switch to Win 7.  But XP from MS support ended. So I only hope you fix it in Win XP .net4.0.

    Best regards,

    Kristin
