Get road distance between two coordinates RRS feed

  • Question

  • Howdy,

So I have a working Bing Maps WPF application written in C# that collects GPS coordinates from vehicles and plots them on the map. What I'm want to do is calculate the actual road distance (distance actually traveled and not a straight line distance) between two given GPS coordinates.

I've looked around and see that there are some 'snap-to-road' API's but at first blush, none appear to have a 'distance traveled' for point to point sets.

    Anyone have some ideas?

Ultimately, what I'd like to be able to do is calculate segment speed and total distance traveled for an entire day.

    Thank you,

  • Hi Red,

Snap to road should give you the most likely route taken and that should include each segment length.  Where did that fail for you?
