Bing Aerial BaseMaps - Reference Information? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I work with ArcGIS 10.0 and am currently utilizing the Bing Aerial Maps Baselayer for a project I'm working on.  These maps have a great resolution and best suit my needs for this project. I spoke with ESRI and they said this might be the best place for some help.

I'm in need to site my references for the bing aerial basemap data I'm using in Real County, Texas.   Can anyone help me establish the year / or month this aerial data was taken?

I realize these images are complied through many aerial data sets so it can be difficult to hone in on exactly when / where the source image data for this area was taken.

Southwest, Texas -- Real County.   Relatively when was image taken?  + any other source information possible so I can properly site my work.

    Thanks in advance!

    Zach

  • You can use the Bing Maps Imagery Metadata app to get this information. You can access this app here: http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&app=60526

  • Thanks for pointing me out to this - I was looking for that data, too.  However, the URL above just took me to the "entry" interface of Bing maps. Luckily, thanks to the "Map apps" tab I found that Imagery Metadata app.
