Web Site hosted in Azure App Service and CDN not propagating Expires Content Cache to client browser RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

    I have a C# MVC web site hosted in an Azure App Service Standard: 1 Small account. I am running the site over https. When I refer directly to the content on

    the site, it is served with the cache expiry headers on the content. Serving files from an Azure web site is

    exceptionally slow, so to speed it up, I have introduced Azure CDN. The problem is, Azure CDN is stripping

    off the cache expiry headers. How do I get Azure CDN to recognise those expiry headers that are set in

    the web.config file:

    <system.webServer>
       <staticContent>
          <clientCache cacheControlMode="UseMaxAge" cacheControlMaxAge="30.00:00:00" />
       </staticContent>
    </system.webServer>
