  • First, the forum you want for Visual Studio questions is here:

    If you have additional questions about Visual Studio, please use that forum.

    On your current situation: did you select the default install for Visual Studio 2008 when you installed it? If so, you should see VB, C# and C++ project templates in the New Project dialog when you start a new project. Do you see C# project category and in it, templates like Windows Form Application, Console Application, etc.?

    By default, Visual Studio will install templates and compilers for all three programming languages, VB, C# and C++. If you want to change the default configuration of Visual Studio 2008 to C#, do this:

    Tools->Import and Export Settings...

    In the Import and Export Settings Wizard, select Reset All Settings->Next.

    Elect to either save current settings or just to reset all settings->Next.

    You will now see the default settings list. Select Visual C# Development Settings-Finish.
