    Hi,

    We have implemented self-hosted IR on an on-prem VM successfully. It is working fine. But I really want to know the answer of this question :

    Based on https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/data-factory/create-self-hosted-integration-runtime this article , for self-hosted IR just we need to config outbound ports. and we don't need to open any inbound ports.

    But how is it possible that IR is located on the VM with no open inbound port receive query and other information from data factory?

    Hi Pouya,

    The self-hosted integration runtime makes HTTP-based connections to access the internet. The outbound ports 443 must be opened for the self-hosted integration runtime to make this connection.

    For more details, refer “Command flow and data flow”.
