Cannot see databases assigned in SQL Server 2005 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have created a user in SQL Server 2005 and assigned few databases to the user in "User Mapping" page of Login Properties. The Default Schema is dbo and the user is memeber of db_owner group in each database.

But, when I try to create a ODBC connection of Type "SQL Server" to the server, the only database that is visible is the Default Database assigned in General page of Login Properties.

    Any suggestions would be great.

    Thanks

  •  This is a limitation on SSMS and the existing permission model for catalog views; I would recommend using Microsoft SQL Server Connect (http://connect.microsoft.com/sql) to find a case for it (or open a new one) and vote.

As a workaround, VIEW ANY DATABASE (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189077.aspx) permission may help you.

      I hope this information helps,

  • Thanks Raul.

    Assigning the permission worked.
