How to debug word online App with Visual Studio 2013? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

our App got rejected because the language interface was in English although it should have been German.

This problem only occurred in Word Online. Word Desktop and Excel Online work perfectly.

Now we want to debug the app in Word Online, but when we select a browser as "Start Action", the only "Start Document" available is ""New Excel Workbook.

    We use

    Visual Studio 2013 Update 5

I installed "MS Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2013 -  Update August 2015" but no changes.

Does someone has experinced the same problem?

Dies anyone know if it will work in Visual Studio 2015?

    Thanks in advance!

    Phil

  • This is a known gap/issue. Microsoft is working on fixing this.

At this stage, you just cannot debug apps for Word Online.

  • Hi Phil,

As Roland Oldengarm pointed that debugging for Word Online is not support at present version of Visual Studio and Napa.

I suggest that you submit the feedback from link below, if you want it is supported:
