How to get a url from Azure Media Services RRS feed

  • Question

  • If I upload a mp4 to media services,  is there anyway to get a url with a .mp4 extension so I can put the link in an app I use? I know if I have a .mov or any type file that needs encryption, an .mp4 file can be generated  but if it is one already, it won't give a url with .mp4 extension. Maybe I don't need to use media services but something else in Azure.

  • If you are trying to directly read it from a website, I would suggest adding the following code:

    <staticContent>
          <mimeMap fileExtension=".mp4" mimeType="video/mp4" />
          <clientCache cacheControlMode="UseMaxAge" cacheControlMaxAge="7.00:00:00" />
        </staticContent>

    There is a similar topic available in here  This is also a hint to research more about web apps in Azure.
