I don't think there are any real differences between windows 2016 and windows 2008. The last big step change was windows 2003 (iis 6) to windows 2008 (iis7)

Obviously it depends on the complexity and how up to date your app is.
If you have a neglected app that is running on 2003 and not been touched in 15 years you could have too many challenges.

    Hi Naresh009,

    You had asked,

    (1) Is it possible to migrate classic asp  application into windows 2016 server?

Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10 Pro  uses  IIS10.   In Windows 10 Pro, you can enable ASP under "Turn on Windows Features" just like IIS 8.x manager.  IIS10 manager still has the classic pipeline mode for the app pool. So it is possible to migrate your Classic ASP app to Windows Server 2016.

Other thing you had asked,"If yes what are the challenges to migrate classic asp application into windows server 2016( IIS 10.0)."

It depends upon your application, We are not aware about your application that it is very simple basic application or complex one. we also don't know that currently on which version of Server and IIS you are using to host this app. So you need to consider this things and then move ahead for migration.

    (2)  Is it possible to use SQL Server 2016 in Classic asp application ??

Yes, based on my searching results. It looks like it is possible to use SQL Server 2016 in Classic ASP Application as there is no any major changes occurred with this version.

My application little  complex and  currently we have deployed into IIS 6.0 ( 32 bit windows 2003 server) , IIS 8.5 (64 bit windows 2008 Server).

    Hi Naresh009,

You had mentioned that,"My application little  complex and  currently we have deployed into IIS 6.0 ( 32 bit windows 2003 server) , IIS 8.5 (64 bit windows 2008 Server)."

I try to find some article and got one article for migrating classic asp from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2012.

You can try to refer same article to migrate to windows Server 2016.

You can try to check the first method from the article below.

Options to migrate Classic ASP and VB6 Applications from Windows 2003 to Windows 2012

Then after you can check whether your app is working correctly or not. if there is some issue then you need to try to fix it by applying a specific solution for it.
