  • Alex,

Thank you for your interest in the Office binary file format documentation. I have passed your comments along to the product team for consideration.  Office is planning to provide additional documentation for the Office binary file formats (.doc, .xls and .ppt) in the next few months.

  • Alex,

I believe Microsoft is planning on having additional new forums for asking these types of questions.  The new forums will will mostly likely be timed when the additional documentation is posted.

For now your best option is to ask these types of questions on the “Interoperability Forums” and specifically on “Interoperability Conversations at http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=2069&SiteID=1

Uh, the Interoperability Conversations Forum has moved, but I suggest a better place would be the Office Binary File Formats Forum right here under the Open Protocol Forums.   It appears that Alex Ott has managed to find the way over there.

  • Good question Alex.   Let me ask some of the usual suspects in Office to see if we can get something in place.

    Cheers,
