Unregister VB6 DLL on Windows 2008 Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a 32 bit VB6 dll running fine on Windows 2008 64 bit. I need to remove the current dll and replace it with a new one. The dll is is being used by IIS so I stopped the site, went to c:\windows\syswow64 and ran regsvr32 /u "dllname" (no quotes). It said that the dll unregistered successfully. I deleted the old file, copied the new one into the syswow64 directory and ran regsvr32 "dllname". Again I received successful message. I started the site and tested. The site was still using the old dll. Any ideas??
