Small Basic getting ahead of itself ?? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Are there any known issues (problems, bugs) with Small Basic becoming unreliable when running a program?

Situation:  I'm writing a game program for myself, and I run it, and it stalls part way through processing.  Close the application window, and press F5 again, and it runs through just fine.  Other times, I'll be bouncing between screens, and sometimes SB doesn't re-draw the borders properly.

It feels like the program stalls, or stumbles as it's processing.  I know I've seen some programmers intentionally put in delays into their code to allow SB to catch up with itself.

Has anyone else experienced this, or can someone make some suggestions?  I would appreciate any suggestions, otherwise, I'm going to migrate what I've done to another language.

    Thanks very much.

  • Hi ThomasL, how is your program structure?  Has main loop?  Or no loop but only event subroutines?  I think your program wastes much resources for example doing many calls without returns.  Thanks.
