Data Group Footer Formatting RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Everyone.

I am working on a report with a data table where the detail row is hidden.  The data is summarized and displayed in the footer.  I want to highlight every other group footer like you would with RowNumber() Mod 2, but I can't seem to find a way to do this correctly.  All of the row functions give me the number of detail rows, and I can't seem to think of a way to pull this off correctly.  Thank you for any help.

  • Well, I have found a clunky workaround for my problem that works.

I created a FooterCount property and a function that increments the counter in the Custom Code tab of the report.  I call the increment function in the last row of the footer.  I do the IIF(Code.FooterCount Mod 2 = 0, "Color1", "Color2") in the BackgroundColor of each row in the footer.

This is an old school FoxPro report writer type hack, and I would think that there is a better way.  If you know of a better (more efficient/less code/preferred) way, please let me know.

    Thanks.
