Click on pushpin redirect to "#" RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

When I click on pushpins it redirects to "#" by default. Inspecting the elements shows that the pushpins has an <a href="#" class="MapPushpinBase">.

Any ideas how to override/remove the href? I've attached infoboxes to the pushpins and they will only show for a short moment before the redirecting happens.

I've been searching the internet for an answer but without any luck.

    Thank you in advance.

  • There is no option to modify this in the map control other than to add in a messy hack that would likely break or cause more issues.

  • Hi Ricky

    Thank you for your reply.

But does it make any sense? I'm not able to display any infoboxes because I get redirected everytime I click on a pin?

Here's an example from Bing Maps, making a pin in Denmark. Mouseover it and you will see "www.bing.com/maps/#" below in the left cornor. Somehow they managed to cancel(or something) the redirect and display the infobox instead: http://www.bing.com/maps/#Y3A9NTUuNzQ4NDAwfjEyLjU0ODYwMCZsdmw9NCZzdHk9ciZxPWRlbm1hcms=

I've also tried your example here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/rbrundritt/archive/2013/11/08/multiple-pushpins-and-infoboxes-in-bing-maps-v7.aspx
I am still getting redirected :-/

It must be possible to  somehow display infoboxes without getting redirected.. Otherwise what's the point of using infoboxes when you can't display them? :-)

If you have any suggestions I'd be glad to hear them. Thank you.

  • Which browser are you using as I haven't seen this behavior in any of the browsers I've used since V7 was released 5 years ago.
