Migration TFS 2008 to TFS 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everyone,

I have a scenario like this... We have upgraded from tfs 2008 to Tfs 2010 (test environment) and everything is working fine. Now after upgrading development teams have created 4 new projects in TFS 2008 and want to test in TFS 2010 test environment before the actual upgrade..

My question is whether I will be able to migrate those 4 new projects manually from 2008 to tfs 2010..

Also want to know if I can able to create new Project collection in TFS 2010 after the Upgrade from Tfs 2008..If yes please let me know..thanks

  • Hi Masood,

    I would suggest below solutions:

    1. Unconfigure the TFS2010, restore the TFS2008 dbs and rerun the upgrade

    2. Using TFSConfig /import command you can import the team projects into a different Team project collection without unconfiguring the existing Team Foundation application tier.

Feel free to ask if you need any additional information
