Error when trying to add controller RRS feed

  • Question

  • Greetings all,

    I'm trying to do my first azure app. When I try to add a controller I get the following error:

    Loading this assembly would produce a different grant set from other instances. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131401)

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi Ken,

    There are a few possible solutions to solve this issue:

    1. Install a hotfix: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2282372
    2. Clear the temporary ASP.NET files: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\<versionNumber>\Temporary ASP.NET Files
    3. Change the web.config and the web role:

    web.config

      <system.web>
        <trust level="Full" />
        ...
      </system.web>
    Web Role

    Hope this helps.

  • Emmanuel,

    Thanks for the reply. I'm using VS2010 on a 64bit Windows 7 Home Premium operating system and MVC3.

    I've got to put this project on hold for several days due to other commitments then I'll try your suggestions and get back to you with the results.
