Not able to access Central Admin after doing SQL AlwaysOn RRS feed

  • Question

  • In our SharePoint 2013 environment we are performing SQL ASlwaysOn activity. We have followed some msdn blogs

and successfully failover our current database to DR site database using HA Listener. so now the application is in our current site and databses are moved to DR site database. we checked our portal is up and working . but when we try to open Central Admin we get this error:

    "

This operation can be performed only on a computer that is joined to a server farm by users who have permissions in SQL Server to read from the configuration database

    "

from the error it seems like it is the permission issue on the DR site database and is not able to access Config database. but we checked the user permissions , the permissions are also the same as our current site database . we are using farm account which has Sysadmin permission on the database.

can someone suggest something for this?

  • This may help you.

You do not have to give permission in SQL to all of your users. This error occurs whe the SharePoint farm administrator cannot connect to your configuration database. make sure that from the SharePoint front end and application servers that you can ping your SQL server. make sure that your Farm account has permission to the configuration database. Lastly verify that your database didn't for some reason go into recovery mode. once everything is fine and you are still having issues, restart the SQL host service on the SQL server. Once the service is restarted you will need to reboot Central Admin and then your front end servers.
