New Storage Account Does Not Work With Website Diagnostics

  • After creating a Storage Account in Azure I am not able to use it with a website as diagnostic storage. The Storage Account is not a classic one, it's the 'new' one.

When I run the following PowerShell command, I get a message about the Storage Account not existing. This is a false negative, it does exist. I did know of any limitations about the type of Storage Account. We are trying to rely on PowerShell and Azure's APIs to do this work and not the portal.

    Command using Storage Account:

            Enable-AzureWebsiteApplicationDiagnostic `
                -TableStorage `
                -LogLevel $ErrorLogLevel `
                -StorageAccountName $DiagnosticStorageAccountName `
                -StorageTableName $AzureWebsiteDiagTableName `
                -Name $WebSiteName

"Exception: ResourceNotFound: The storage account 'mystorageaccount' was not found."

  • Under 'diagnostics logs' > (on) for blob > no, I do not see the storage account but I do see it in the portal under where the storage accounts are
