Which call is billable and which call is non-billable RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Bing,

    I have a concern about billable and non-billable call. As I know RESTImagery is have both billable and non-billable functionality. How I can know exactly which calls are billable and which call are non-billable?

    As I know, all REST call to get metadata is non-billable. Is that correct?

  • I would like to know what is different between RESTImagery and RESTImagery-basicmetadata from this link:

    //msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff859477.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

    //dev.virtualearth.net/REST/v1/Imagery/Map/Aerial/34.034939,-118.277367/19?key=[KEY]&mapsize=125,94 -- this call return JPG, how it costs?

    //dev.virtualearth.net/REST/V1/Imagery/Metadata/aerial/34.034939,-118.277367?key=[KEY]&zoomLevel=20 -- this call return meta data contain ImageURL, when I use this image, how it costs?

  • Both of those calls are billable. A basic metadata query has a URL like this:

    https://dev.virtualearth.net/REST/v1/Imagery/BasicMetadata/...

    See documentation here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff701716.aspx
