  • i am new to code-signing, actually - i developed a freeware C# app using VS 2005, then i converted it to VS 2008 Express and want to deploy it using ClickOnce.  i obtained a certificate from www.cacert.org.  i then added the certificate to Internet Explorer, then exported it from IE as a .pfx file.  in VS "Signing" i received a message something to the effect that "the certificate was not the right kind for signing...".  so i fiddled around in the Certificates plug-in in MMC to no avail (and did notice the "cacert" root certificate is installed under one of the less-trusted stores - copying it to Trusted Root Certification store did not help - but now i just keep getting the message "object already exists" when i try to publish, after entering my password for my .pfx file.  Any comments would be welcomed. - Regards.
