CLR not loaded when VS 2008 C++ Express SP1 loaded - so PropertyGrid components don't load nor does options work RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • After installing VS 2008 C++ Express SP1 on my Windows XP SP3, I cannot access Project Properties or some other properties windows.  A message says "Common Language Runtime" not loaded.

Can someone tell me what went wrong?  How is CLR loaded?  I assume that this would have been done automatically when VS C++ came up, but apparently not.

I need access to project options to adjust the compiler/linker options and would greatly appreciate fixing this problem.

  • Yeah, the Properties window and the Project properties are edited with the PropertyGrid .NET component.  Something Really Bad happened during installation.  Impossible to guess what.
