USB Descriptor Test, USB MS OS Descripto Test (xHCI), USB Selective Suspend Tests fails on WIndows 8.1 x86 only RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

The device is USB2 Full Speed.

These tests run fine on Windows 7 x86 & x64 and on Windows 8.1 x64.

The fails occur only on Windows 8.1 x86. Error Message :

    Failed request for MS OS
descriptor. If not supported, device should STALL request. TEST_STATUS
    File: testsrc\driverstest\usb\cvmodified\wlk\usbhctxhci\common.cpp Line: 684
    Error Type: HRESULT
    Error Code: 0x80004005
    Error Text: Unspecified error

The device is correct as it works for the x64 version.

On x86, looking at the logs on the "Run Test" task logs, I see :

    - USBHCTxHCI_DriverChange.wtl and txt

    - USBHCTxHCI.wtl and txt  --> where the error is located

    - RunUSBTest.wtl and txt

On x64, looking at the logs on the "Run Test" task log, I see :

    - USBHCTxHCI_DriverChange.wtl and txt

    - RunUSBTest.wtl and txt

The sub task USBHCTxHCI is not present, then no error.

    Any idea ?

  • Issue resolved by using a host with integrated Intel USB3 controller.

This issue was encountered by other users using, like me, host with old PCIe Renesas board.
