Why is not TabControl shown with its effect in WPF 2010? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Why is not TabControl shown with its effect? Have you ever seen how TabControl is shown when a window is opened? It is like a papyrus. It works in all my forms, however, it does nit work properly now. How to make TabControl work correctly?

    <TabControl  Height=»420» HorizontalAlignment=”Left” Margin=”0,43,0,0”    Name=”TabControl1” VerticalAlignment=”Top” Width=”553” Grid.ColumnSpan=”2”>
    <TabItem Header=”Students” Name=”tabItem1”/>
    </TabControl>

    It is code of a window:

    xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"

    xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"

    Title="MainWindow" Height="350" Width="525" WindowStartupLocation=”CenterScreen”>

    How to do it?

  • Hi NiceStepUp,

    I am not sure where your original effect comes from, but it is not a "default" effect of the tabcontrol.

    I suggest you to check with the source of your original project.

  • HI,

    are you asking about styles in TabControl ?

    If you have problem in styles , try this : http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8783057/tabcontrol-styles

    He wanted to disable style which propagates down nested TabControl. But I would like to enable programmatically this property as this feature of TabControl does not work. How to make TabControl show by hand? I have tried many times to make new TabControls in new projects of WPF 2010. However, this feature of TabControl keep not working. I'be seen its properties. Nevertheless, it does not work. How to resolve it?

  • TabControl has an effect when an user opens a "Window.xaml". I do not know how to call this effect. But the effect was in all my applications created in WPF 2010. However, I do not have this effect now when I create new application which has TabControl in WPF 2010. How to run programmatically this effect?)

  • could you provide an image to let me know which effect?

    I think it is based on your system theme.

    Image cannot show its effect. Nevertheless, an effect can be shown through a videofile. I uploaded on youtube. You can see that:
