Not able to get the HTML contents using HTTPModule/Handlers RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am having the 2.0 .NET precompiled web applciation deployed, now in one of the page there is a requirement to remove some of the controls/elements from the HTML content before sending to the client. I came to know that this can be achieved using HTTPModule/HTTPHandlers but not getting HTML content to modify and send it to the client.

Is this the correct way or is there any other method to achieve this.

    Thanks

  • Yes, you can write an HttpHandler to do this.  I did it a while ago basically to reduce the over the wire data packet size, which sounds very similar to what you're attempting?

One thing though, why are you removing the controls from the content before sending them to the client?

It would be easier and a lot more maintainable to remove them from the asp.net page so they never get sent in the first place, or have some logic in there that shows and hides the controls?

    I hope this helps,
