How to close a fly-out menu by clicking away? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a pretty simple fly out menu popping up when a user clicks on a photo slot giving them three options to capture a new image to put in that spot... however, if the user clicked there by accident or changed their mind, I want them to have the ability to click anywhere outside the flyout menu and the flyout menu close.  I'm looking through the events and triggers... it seems to me that i would have:

    When ButtonStack.LostMouseCapture is raised

This is just one example of the event that i tried, LostMouseCapture in order to monitor if the user clicks outside of my flyout (ButtonStack).  However, I'm having no luck.  Can someone point me in the right direction?

  • Try the "Lost Focus" trigger. That's what I usually use.

  • Hi Rockwell,

Hmm, i tried the Lost Focus trigger...but all it seems to do is play my closing animation twice when i click on one of the buttons;  otherwise my fly-out stays open indefinitely, no matter where i click in the application....

    Thanks for the suggestion regardless.
