Windows 8 desktop: mirror driver / remote display driver: unable to capture the cursor shape RRS feed

  • Question

  • We wrote a mirror driver (Windows 2000 DDM), that works fine under winXP / win7 (64 bit).
Under win8-64, a remote display driver (based on the W2000 Mirror Driver model)
    must be used.
Installing and running works fine except that we cant capture the mouse cursor shape.

It seems that the mouse cursor is drawn by hardware.
Debugging showed, that the embracing rects are updated, if the mouse moves, but they do not contain the cursor picture.
The function DrvEnablePDEV() has a parameter DEVINFO* pdi, which describes the driver and its capabilities.
I tried a lot of combinations of flags for flGraphicsCaps and flGraphicsCaps2, but without success. (I use the winddi.h for Win 8)

    Thanks a lot

  • Wondering if you ever got anywhere with this issue?  I am in a similar situation except that I can not seem to map into the display buffer of a secondary display?  Any chance you have run into the same problem?
